How the cost of living is affecting people here in Bicester, Kidlington and Woodstock

Thank you to the (politically neutral) Citizens Advice Bureau in Bicester for meeting me today to discuss how the rising cost of living is affecting residents locally. Lots of people who were just about getting by are now turning to them for debt support or referrals to food banks.
As your candidate to be the next MP for Bicester, Kidlington and Woodstock, I am committed to tackling these problems.
The biggest cause of debt locally is fuel bills. Labour has a plan to reduce energy costs for everyone with a new public owned clean company, Great British Energy
Many people needing help are home owners and in work - including teachers and nurses. Some are doing multiple jobs. The Liz Truss budget is still hitting them hard today. Labour has a plan to stabilise the economy and make work pay.
Citizens Advice clients are proud people, many of whom find it hard to come for help.
None of these challenges will be solved overnight but as your Labour MP I am determined that everyone in our community can heat their homes and put food on the table without having to turn to charities for help.
